World Class University Campus in the Heart of Miri City

The establishment of a SE Asia campus in Miri City for Fudan University’s internationally renowned Institutes of Integrative Medicine moved a step closer to realization with the signing today of a strategic agreement between Miri City Council and Imasa Dinasti Sdn Bhd.

Witnessed by YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, today’s signing between Mr. Abdul Rahman (Acting City Secretary of Miri City Council) and Ar. Teo Ah Khing (Chairman of Imasa Dinasti Sdn Bhd) is transformative as it:

  • Ensures the establishment of Stage 1 of the SE Asia Campus of Fudan’s famed Institutes of Integrative Medicine (FDIIM) at the Old Miri City
    Council Building;
  • Plays a strategic role in the enhancement of Sarawak’s healthcare capabilities and in particular those of Miri and the northern region;
  • Promotes new international educational opportunities in Miri which are both relevant to the local populous as well as to regional students which
    will drive educational tourism;
  • Will fast track Miri’s urban transformation with the reenergizing of one of its historic administrative buildings.

Stage 1 of Fudan’s SE Asia Campus will be centered around its Institutes of Integrative Medicine but the facility will also house a Training Centre and AI Clinic. Fudan’s SE Asia Campus will be permanently established within the Kenyalang Smart City (KSC) upon the completion of the construction of its state-of-the-art facilities.

YB Mayor Adam Yii said: “Today’s signing with Imasa Dinasti is a further demonstration of the importance of the private sector and in Kenyalang Smart City (KSC) in elevating Miri as a progressive, innovative and sustainable city. Fudan University’s Institutes of Integrative Medicine represents the standards of excellence we aspire for Mirians, as does the KSC itself.”

Ar. Teo Ah Khing, Chairman of Imasa Dinasti said: “Bringing world class Fudan University Institutes of Integrative Medicine to Miri signifies a giant step of  faith by Mirians to welcome modern healthcare establishment in Borneo. Imasa Dinasti is proud to collaborate with Miri City Council especially YB Mayor Adam Yii and team who has been very supportive of the Government initiatives to transform the northern Sarawak especially Miri to be in line with PCDS2030.

Today’s agreement aligns with Sarawak’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2030), positioning Miri as a model for sustainable smart city development through global partnerships and technological integration.

These notable advancements follow key agreements and signings between Fudan University and Imasa Dinasti Sdn. Bhd. which are benefitting Miri and the broader Sarawak highlighted by:
April 2025: An agreement to establishment a joint Innovation and Research Centre in Miri;

February 2025: An announcement for the creation of the world’s first Biodiversity Museum at Miri’s Old Residence Office which will integrate Modern Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Sarawak’s natural heritage and be adjacent to Stage 1 of Fudan’s SE Asia Campus.
